Ok so forever ago if you can believe such things souls were born. They were born whole but they couldn’t stay that way.
The energy it took to separate the whole souls was so great that it sent the twins far in time and space. Most souls are so far apart that they won’t come in contact with each other for a very long time—an eternity. We are all constantly being pulled towards our polar opposite but this life is so small that it only manifests itself in an awkward emptiness. Maybe a quiet sadness.
This void has been filled with many things but the best thing we can do is let that void be, don’t try to fill it because it will be eternity before we will ever be reunited with our twin flames. It will take us that long to be ready. But there are rarities that are so improbably that they just don’t happen in a time frame that is comprehensible to us. When they do the consequences are extreme.
We discovered late in our civilization that there are some souls, rare souls, whose pull is so great that they move universes and time to come together prematurely. It is this power of twin souls that a dying civilization decided to harvest. They came upon the power by accident and were startled when they found it. From the first moment that the souls made contact the flame was imprinted on millions of beings and two worlds from two different universes were united for better or for worse. It’s still not clear which.
